WORK EXPERIENCE

 

The Hook Studio, Brooklyn NY    04/05-Present

Co-owner of a full service recording studio providing audio recording for CD release, film, and television.  The Hook Studio mixes classic analog equipment with state of the art recording technology.

 

SmartARTS Academy, John J. Pershing Intermediate School, 6-8, Brooklyn NY   10/08-07/09

Taught class entitled ÒRecording StudioÓ in this afterschool program that brings the performing arts to the community of Sunset Park, Brooklyn. SmartARTS is sponsored through a partnership of Create! and the Brooklyn Philharmonic.

 

Red Hook Initiative, Brooklyn NY   1/07-09/09

Co-founded RHI Radio, an internet radio station staffed by teens attending RHI, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the health and well-being of residents of the Red Hook Houses, a low income housing development in Brooklyn.

In partnership with www.redhookradio.org, a self designed and operated internet radio station.

 

Brooklyn High School for the Arts, Brooklyn NY   02/06-05/08

Through the non-profit organization Create!, taught two classes entitled ÒRecording Technology.Ó  Culminated in a final CD in which students wrote and recorded songs as well as narrative radio pieces.

 

Logicentric,LLC/Cervantes Institute, New York, NY   02/05-09/09

Audio engineer in the auditorium of The Cervantes Institute, a Spanish language cultural center.

Events include lectures, panel discussions, movies, and a monthly concert series. 

 

Hot Box Studios, Los Angeles, CA   01/03-02/05

Owned and operated full service recording studio.  Projects included albums, remixes, and commercial voice-overs.

 

Dust Brothers Produce, Inc., Los Angeles, CA          11/99-11/03

Studio manager and recording assistant for the Grammy winning producers at ÒThe Boat,Ó a vintage professional studio equipped with Neve 80 series console and classic outboard modules.  Also functioned as in-house Protools engineer and drum programmer.

Teacher of third grade class for two years in the Brooklyn private school.
